Academic Interests
My academic interests centre on outcomes of abdominal surgery in real-world practice. I am particularly interested in postoperative recovery, complications, and variability of outcomes in older patients, as well as in how organisational aspects of care affect surgical results.
I am also interested in health-care systems, clinical pathways, and pragmatic research that reflects everyday surgical practice rather than highly selected trial populations.
Earlier in my academic career, my doctoral research focused on hereditary colorectal cancer, particularly Lynch syndrome. This work formed the basis of my PhD and provided a foundation in clinically oriented and translational research.
